Zusammenfassung

In diesem Buch geht es um die Zukunft der Gesundheit und des Gesundheitssystems in Österreich vor dem Hintergrund globaler Entwicklungen, die auf Österreich und sein Gesundheitssystem einwirken. In diesem Kapitel des Buches soll erörtert werden was das Konzept der Gesundheitskompetenz, das derzeit ausgehend von den USA auch in Europa und Asien und insbesondere auch in Österreich in der Gesundheitspolitik eine Hochkonjunktur erlebt, zum Verständnis und zur Gestaltung künftiger Entwicklungen leisten kann. Die Überschneidungen und Wechselwirkungen mit den Themen anderer Kapitel, wie Chancengleichheit, Gesundheitsberichterstattung, IT und Steuerung sollen dabei zu mindestens angedeutet werden.
