Zusammenfassung
Der Liebesfilm bezeichnet ein Genre, in dem die Darstellung einer Liebesbeziehung im Mittelpunkt des Plots steht. Er reflektiert einen gesellschaftlich-kulturellen Romantikcode, der durch Visualisierung und Verbalisierung von inneren Befindlichkeiten der Filmfiguren kinematografisch umgesetzt und damit oft erst zur Anschauung gebracht wird. Die Entwicklung des Genreplots der modernen, romantischen Liebe hat jedoch auch eine sozialstrukturelle Voraussetzung in den urbanen Zentren der USA zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts.
