Zusammenfassung
Hochschulen sind die dominierende Organisationsform staatlich finanzierter Wissenschaftsproduktion und fungieren auch gesellschaftlich als Schlüsselinstitutionen (Frank/Meyer 2007: 28; Parsons 1971: 244). Ungeachtet einer Vielfalt nationaler Modelle im Hinblick auf Rechtsformen, Finanzierung und Aufgabendifferenzierung rekurrieren Hochschulen weltweit auf universale akademische Organisationsprinzipien (Clark 1972). Die Entscheidungsprozesse an den Hochschulen sind dabei sowohl durch den Modus kollegialer Selbstregulierung geprägt als auch durch das bürokratische Organisationsprinzip beeinflusst (Mintzberg 1979).
