Beyond bridging rationalist and constructivist mechanisms of change

  • Anitta M. Hipper

Attempts to explain how domestic change induced by the EU have been addressed mainly through the logics of consequentiality and appropriateness put forward by March and Olsen (March and Olsen 1989). The two ‘logics’ have been clustered along rationalist and constructivist lines (Knill and Lehmkuhl 2002; Sedelmeier 2012; Börzel and Risse 2003; Ladrech 2010; Schimmelfennig and Sedelmeir 2005; Vachudova 2005; Kubicek 2003; Checkel 2000; Engert 2010).
