Zusammenfassung
In der Öffentlichkeit und in der bioethischen Literatur findet seit etwa 20 Jahren eine intensive Diskussion über die Verwendung von humanen Stammzellen zu Zwecken der Therapie aber auch zu Zwecken der medizinisch assistierten Fortpflanzung statt. Die Autoren dieses Beitrages haben vor kurzem in einem ausführlichen Artikel (Weiss u. a., 2013) die relativ neue Situation dargestellt, die nach der Entwicklung von Techniken entstanden ist, mit denen man im Labor ohne Verwendung von humanen Embryonen, sogenannte humane induzierte pluripotente Stammzellen (hiPSC), herstellen kann.
