Zusammenfassung

Anlässlich des 100-jährigen Jubiläums der Kaplan-Turbine wird ein kurzer Abriss des Werdegangs von Viktor Kaplan gegeben, und auf die Bedeutung dieser Turbinenbauart, der Entdeckung der Kavitation in Wasserturbinen sowie des Kaplan‘schen Konstruktionsverfahrens für alle Strömungsmaschinen wird eingegangen. Moderne Berechnungsverfahren für Kavitation werden angerissen.
