Zusammenfassung
One of the main research interests in the field of organizational education focuses on the wide range of learning processes within organizations. These learning related changes cannot be fully understood without taking into account the time and temporality in which they unfold. Process approaches in organizational research claim to pay particular attention to the temporal aspects of how changes in organizations evolve. On a methodical approach level, longitudinal research is seen to be most suitable in organizational research when change, development or process in organizations is being investigated. Since longitudinal research does not refer to a single method, an overview of the different research designs is given and their strengths and weaknesses are discussed.
