Zusammenfassung
Seit den Anfängen von Werbung ähnelten Medien Marktplätzen, auf denen Marktschreier wahllos Vorbeilaufende anschrien und hofften, jemand bliebe interessiert stehen. Den jeweiligen Marktplatz nannte man aufgrund seiner homogenen Thematik Umfeld. Um das nötige Grundrauschen zu erreichen, nahm man hohe Streuverluste in Kauf. Klassische Werbung glich also Bowling: Man zielte auf eine „Personengruppe“ und hoffte, indirekt gleich noch ein paar mehr umzuhauen. Wenn man die richtige Werbebotschaft im richtigen Media‐Mix platzierte, erzielte man einen Strike. Man konnte aber auch jederzeit alle Werbeinvests versenken und landete in der kommunikativ ins Nichts führenden Seitenrinne. Im Zuge der Digitalisierung der Werbeplattformen wurde immer mehr Technik eingesetzt, um Menschen gemäß ihrer Interessen anzusprechen. Online-Werbung glich schon mehr einem Flipper: Die Kugel zischte gezielt und schnell zum anvisierten Ziel, aber die Reaktion war unberechenbar. Wenn es gut lief, hatte die Kampagne eine positive Viralität. Wenn man Pech hatte, flogen einem nur noch mehr Kugeln um den Kopf und man erntete gegebenenfalls einen Shitstorm. Mobile liefert im Kern das Versprechen, seine jeweilige Zielgruppe hyperlokal und in Echtzeit exakt ansprechen zu können. Mobile Marketing ist „Millimeter‐Marketing“ (Thommes 2015) und das Szenario gleicht dem Golfspiel: Mit einer Auswahl an Präzisionswerkzeugen nähert man sich dem Ziel, sprich der identifizierten Person (Segment of One ). Die besonderen Möglichkeiten von Mobile ergeben sich dann im Zielbereich der Kampagne auf dem Green. Location Based Advertising verhilft der Marke zum perfekten Putt. Mit möglichst wenig Schlägen muss man sein Ziel erreichen, es gibt keine zweite Chance wie beim Bowling oder Flippern, wo der Ball einfach wieder am Start liegt, und wenn man Pech hat, landet man relativ aussichtslos im Rough. Audience Targeting wird Realität. Mehr Budget ist nicht unbedingt wirksamer, währenddessen man beim Bowling und Flippern mit mehr Budget immer wieder Bälle auf der Rampe zur Verfügung stehen hat. Immer mehr Marken reagieren auf den Mobile Shift und damit auf die zunehmend mobile Mediennutzung und die steigenden Reichweiten von Mobile. Flankiert von Effektivitäts‐ und Effizienzstudien erobert Mobile Marketing in seinen vielen Spielarten den Media‐Mix. Mehr noch: Seine unique Ausstattung, die Brückenbildung zum Verbraucher über alle Medien hinweg und die Omnipräsenz im Alltag lassen den Mobile Screen zum fünften P im Marketing‐Mix werden. Die Kunst besteht darin, gut gemachte Werbung, also relevante Information Made for Mobile, also kreiert für den besonderen Bildschirm unter Nutzung seiner sensorbasierten Technologien, an handverlesene Personen im richtigen Zeitpunkt auszuliefern. Von diesen Mobile Moments gibt es über den Tag verteilt immer mehr, je öfter sich der Konsument an sein Smartphone wendet, um Anregungen und Antworten zu erhalten. Marketing‐Automation‐Software unterstützt zunehmend bei der Identifikation und gezielten, programmatischen Bespielung der Myriaden von Möglichkeiten im Kosmos von Apps, Mobile Sites und Screens. Dabei leben auf dem mobilen Bildschirm sowohl Marken als auch Plattformen wie Apps und Mobile Services noch stärker als auf anderen Medien vom Nutzervertrauen. Werbung darf nicht stören, sonst wird sie und damit die Marke oder gar die Plattform gnadenlos durch Liebesentzug bzw. Nutzungsentzug abgestraft. Das gilt umso mehr, je mehr Werbung in noch intimere Bereiche auf den Mobile Satellites Uhren, Brillen oder Armaturenbretter vordringt.
