Installation of a Dynamic Field Free Line Imaging Device

Part of the Aktuelle Forschung Medizintechnik book series (MEDTEC)

In this chapter, the implementation of the first dynamic FFL mouse scanner is presented. According to the findings of chapter 6, the scanner is built of curved rectangular coils and does hence provide an experimental validation for the simulated results of chapter 6. Fig. 8.1(a) shows a picture of the complete transmit coil assembly, i. e. selection and drive field coils, which are all of curved rectangular shape. The complete scanner with the transmit coil assembly mounted on a patient tube and hosted inside of an acrylic glass tube to ensure air tightening is illustrated in Fig. 8.1(b). Air cooling is achieved by the use of six radial fans.
