Zusammenfassung
Thailand erwirtschaftet mit einer Einwohnerzahl von ca. 67 Mio. Menschen ein Bruttoinlandsprodukt (BIP) von etwa US$ 365 Mrd. Dies entspricht einem BIP pro Einwohner, bereinigt um Wechselkursschwankungen, von ca. US$ 9800. Damit belegte das Land Rang 103 nach dem Human Development Index 2012. Zu den wichtigsten Handelspartnern gehören Japan, China, Malaysia und die USA.
