Die Aufgabe des Kolbens besteht darin, die bei der Verbrennung des Kraftstoff-Luft-Gemisches entstehenden Druckkräfte aufzunehmen, über den Kolbenbolzen und die Pleuelstange auf die Kurbelwelle zu übertragen.
