Zusammenfassu
Der Begriff der Finanzialisierung beschreibt die Tendenz einer hegemonialen Positionierung der Finanzmärkte und ihrer Akteure in den wirtschaftlichen, politischen und sozialen Zusammenhängen des globalen Kapitalismus. Dieser Prozess ist nicht nur als wirtschaftlicher Strukturwandel aufzufassen. Er weist vielmehr eine gesamtgesellschaftliche Dimension auf, deren Verständnis für eine adäquate analytische Sichtweise unverzichtbar ist. Demnach wird im Folgenden vorgeschlagen, Finanzialisierung als Ausdruck eines gesellschaftlichen Vermarktlichungsprozesses zu begreifen, der die Ausweitung von Marktmechanismen in zuvor nicht-marktlich koordinierten gesellschaftlichen Feldern bewirkt und von politischen Akteuren unter Maßgabe strategischer Interessen durchgesetzt wird.
