Zusammenfassung
Die These, dass wir uns inmitten einer Zeit des radikalen Wandels beinahe aller Lebensbereiche befinden, ist weit verbreitet. Sie bildet die Grundlage zahlloser medialer und politischer Debatten, deren Einschätzungen bezüglich der Richtung und Bewertung dieses Wandels jedoch stark variieren. Während die einen der Überzeugung sind, dass die moderne Gesellschaft westlichen Zuschnitts, und mit ihr das System der Marktwirtschaft, auf einem bisweilen mühsamen, aber richtigen Weg sind, sehen andere nichts weniger als den Kollaps des Kapitalismus heraufziehen.
