Abstract
Family firms have a significant impact on global economies, represent the majority of businesses in most countries and are among the longest-lived organizations in the world (e.g. Faccio & Lang, 2002; Ifera, 2003; La Porta, López de Silanes, Shleifer, & Vishny, 1999; Miller & Le- Breton-Miller, 2005). Therefore, academia has commenced to appreciate the importance of research on family businesses.
