Zusammenfassung

Trotz aller verkehrspolitischen und rechtlichen Restriktionen und Sanktionen sowie eines leichten Rückgangs an Unfällen unter dem Einfluss berauschender Mittel von 1,7 % starb auch im Jahr 2012 noch rund jeder elfte Verkehrstote infolge eines alkoholbedingten Unfalls. Die besondere Schwere von Alkoholunfällen wird an folgenden Vergleichswerten deutlich: Während der Anteil aller Alkoholunfälle mit Personenschaden 2012 bei insgesamt 5 % lag, betrug der Anteil der Verkehrstoten, die in Deutschland an den Folgen eines Alkoholunfalls starben, 9,4 % Junge männliche Fahrer sind besonders häufig in Unfälle unter Alkoholeinfluss verwickelt. So ist der Anteil der alkoholisierten Unfallbeteiligten in der Altersgruppe der 18- bis 24-jährigen Fahrerinnen und Fahrer mit 4 % am höchsten.
