Zusammenfassung
In einer grundlegenden Arbeit [3] zum Thema Produktionsanalyse gibt Koopmans notwendige und hinreichende Eigenschaften effizienter Aktivitäten. Dabei unterscheidet Koopmans zwei Fälle bei der Definition von Effizienz: 1. Faktoren (“inputs”, “available in nature”) sind erwünschte Güter (“desired in itself”), d.n. man legt Wert darauf, diese Güter — soweit möglich — zu bewahren. 2. Faktoren sind freie Güter (“not desired in itself”). Shephard [6] unterscheidet weiter — angeregt durch die Diskussion um die Umweltverschmutzung — bei den Endprodukten (“outputs”) zwischen erwünschten und unerwünschten Gütern.
