Zusammenfassung
Brandverletzungen nehmen unter der Vielzahl von Traumen eine besondere Stellung ein; ihre Behandlung ist nicht ohne weiteres mit der von anderen Unfallpatienten gleichzusetzen. Durch die Schädigung der Haut kommt es zur Freisetzung zahlreicher Mediatoren, die primär den Verbrennungsschock und in der Folge die Verbrennungskrankheit verursachen [42, 57].
