Zusammenfassung

Zu den seltenen Erkrankungen, die anästhesiologische Probleme aufwerfen können, zählen auch bestimmte neurologische Störungen und Erkrankungen der Muskulatur. In den überwiegenden Fällen handelt es sich um genetische Defekte; aber auch entzündliche, degenerative, toxische und metabolische Störungen können ursächlich dafür in Frage kommen. Selten sind diese Erkrankungen deshalb, weil sie eine Inzidenz von rund 0,02–0,7‰ aufweisen [101] und die Wahrscheinlichkeit einer anästhesiologischen Intervention daher entsprechend noch niedriger ist. Darin liegt aber gerade die Problematik bei der Narkoseführung und perioperativen Betreuung solcher Patienten. Denn obwohl die Narkose und die Betreuung ein hohes anästhesiologisches Risiko darstellen, für dessen Bewältigung profunde Kenntnisse und Erfahrungen benötigt werden, sind diese Kenntnisse dem Anästhesisten kaum in jeder einzelnen der vielfältigen Erkrankungsformen des neuromuskulären Systems ständig gegenwärtig.
