Pancreatic Trauma

  • Chapter
Radiology of the Pancreas

Part of the book series: Medical Radiology ((Med Radiol Diagn Imaging))

Abstract

Traumatic injuries of the pancreas are rare and difficult to diagnose. The retroperitoneal location of the pancreas explains the attenuated symptomatology early after the trauma, and there is no specific biologic paraclinical test. Therefore, these lesions are often not detected until complications arise.
