Zusammenfassung

Krankheitsbilder, die unserer heutigen Definition des Morbus Crohn und der Colitis ulcerosa entsprechen, finden sich in der Literatur lange bevor beide Erkrankungen ihren derzeit gültigen Namen erhalten haben. Die Definition war u. a. erst möglich, als durch die Entdeckung der infektiösen Erreger die „spezifischen“ von den „unspezifischen“ Darmerkrankungen getrennt werden konnten.
