Zusammenfassung

Die Resultate der Nierentransplantation sind in den letzten Jahren erheblich verbessert worden. Transplantatverluste und Mortalität haben sich durch Optimierung der immunosuppressiven Behandlung, vor allem seit Einführung von Ciclosporin, stetig vermindert. Eine signifikante Reduktion der Morbidität wurde aber auch durch verbesserte chirurgische Technik und durch frühes Erkennen und Behandeln von chirurgischen Problemen erzielt.
