Book cover ACNE and ROSACEA

Abstract

Clinicians have long understood that various types of pressure and friction can intensify acne. The term chin acne acknowledges the deleterious effect of resting the chin on the hands for prolonged periods. When the influence of various traumas on acne subjects is examined, it is soon ascertained that many types of mechanical forces can aggravate existing acne. These include pressure, friction, stretching, rubbing, pinching, or pulling, indeed a whole gamut of mechanical stresses.
