Zusammenfassung

Eine Thromboembolie in die Lungenarterien kann je nach Größe und Lokalisation des eingeschwemmten Thrombus für den betroffenen Patienten ganz unterschiedliche Folgen haben. Das klinische Bild reicht von einer harmlosen, vom Patienten selbst gar nicht bemerkten kleinen Embolie bis zur fulminanten Lungenembolie, die innerhalb von Sekunden zum Tode führen kann.
