Zusammenfassung

Nachdem im Jahr 1929 Forssmann als erster im Selbstversuch einen Katheter über eine Armvene in den rechten Vorhof eingefühlt hatte, ist die Methode der Rechts- und Linksherzkatheterung insbesondere durch die Arbeiten von Cournand (1947) zu einer Routinemethode in der präund postoperativen Vitienuntersuchung geworden.
