Zusammenfassung

Die Manipulation von halbsteifen Kathetern im Rahmen der diagnostischen Untersuchung des rechten Herzens und der Lungenstrombahn erfordert Röntgenkontrolle und einige Erfahrung und Geschicklichkeit. Mit Einführung der weichen flexiblen Einschwemmkatheter durch Grandjean (1967) wurde es möglich, die Rechtsherzkatheteruntersuchung ohne Röntgenkontrolle durchzuführen. Allerdings blieben einige Nachteile bestehen:
