Nephroblastoma, Kidney, Rat

Nephroblastoma is usually an unilateral tumor. When small in size it measures between 0.3 and 0.5 cm in diameter and is located in the cortical region, preferentially at one of the renal poles. On the cut surface these small nephroblastomas are whitish, of firm consistency, and surrounded by a pseudocapsule of compressed renal parenchyma (Fig. 47).
