Zusammenfassung
Die Einführung der Anschnallpflicht und die Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzung hat zu einer deutlichen Reduzierung der Zahl der schweren Schädel-Hirn-Traumen bei Autofahrern geführt. Nach wie vor davon häufig betroffen sind die Zweiradlenker und die Fußgänger, und so bleibt das schwere Schädel-Hirn-Trauma als medizinisches und soziales Problem bestehen. Die Häufigkeit des Schädel-Hirn-Traumas (SHT) bei Unfällen kann mit etwa 70% angenommen werden. Etwa die Hälfte davon sind reine Schädel-Hirn-Traumen ohne Begleitverletzung, bei Polytraumen muß eine Mitbeteiligung des Schädels bei etwa 70% angenommen werden.
