Abstract

If pictures are produced solely by output functions without interaction with an operator, we call the type of application passive output. The application programmer checks the result of his graphics program by looking at the picture and changing the program when he wishes a different result. The opposite of passive output is interactive computer graphics (see Chapter 10.). Dependent on the type of output device used, output can be divided into coordinate graphics and raster graphics.
