Abstract
At any time during execution of a program using GKS, GKS will be in a precisely defined state. The state is given by the operating state and by the values of state variables contained in a number of state lists present in a GKS system. The effects of functions are partly defined as the change of values in state lists that is caused by their invocation. The operating state has one of the following five values:
-
GKS closed;
-
GKS open;
-
At least one workstation open;
-
At least one workstation active;
-
Segment open.
