Abstract

The wall of the eyeball has fairly homogenous mechanical properties. The main difference between the cornea and sclera lies in their thickness (Fig. 185) and the regularity of their lamellar arrangement, which change (along with transparency) in the bluish-gray transition zone at the limbus (Fig. 186).
