Zusammenfassung

Leukämie und maligner Tumor sind im Kindesalter seltene Erkrankungen. Unter 100 000 Kindern werden 10–12 Neuerkrankungen pro Jahr diagnostiziert (Landbeck, 1978). Daraus läßt sich ein Erkrankungsrisiko für Kinder zwischen Ound 14 Jahren von 1:600 bis 1:750 errechnen. Trotz der niedrigen Morbidität sind Krebserkrankungen im Kindesalter nach den Unfällen die zweithäufigste Todesursache jenseits des 1. Lebensjahres.
