Zusammenfassung
Die menschlichen Talgdrüsen und ihr Produkt Talg wurden sehr eingehend untersucht. Über Embryologie, Biochemie, Anatomie und Physiologie dieser Drüsen ist viel bekannt. Die Akne war nicht der alleinige Stimulus für diese umfangreichen Arbeiten. Viele interessante Probleme veranlaßten die Wissenschaftler, die Geheimnisse dieser faszinierenden Drüsen zu erforschen. Diese Behauptung ist nicht unberechtigt, da jede Zelle Lipide von unvorstellbarer chemischer Komplexität synthetisiert. Die Vielfalt der Fettsäuren ist enorm. Die Kettenlängen reichen von C6 bis C22 mit geraden und ungeraden Kohlenwasserstoffzahlen, verzweigten und unverzweigten, gesättigten und ungesättigten Verbindungen, woraus sich Hunderte von Einzelsubstanzen ergeben.
