Zusammenfassung
Ursprünglich war Äthylenoxid als Vorratsschutzmittel gegen Nagetiere und Insekten angewendet worden. P.M.GROSS und L.F.DIXON fanden im Jahr 1933, daß Äthylenoxid zusätzlich antimikrobiell wirkt (251). Seitdem findet es auch zur Entkeimung von Lebensmitteln Verwendung.
