Zusammenfassung
Kohlenhydrate sind Verbindungen mit der Summenformel (CH2 O)n. n kann 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 oder 8 sein. Am häufigsten ist ein Kohlenhydrat mit sechs C-Atomen: der Zucker Glucose. Chemisch sind Zucker: Polyhydroxyaldehyde oder Polyhydroxyketone. Mit anderen Worten: mehrwertige Alkohole, die an einem der C- Atome eine CHO- oder R1 -CO-R2 -Gmppe tragen.
