Zusammenfassung

Die Mycobakterien sind stäbchenförmige Bakterien, die sich nicht leicht anfärben lassen, die jedoch, wenn sie einmal gefärbt sind, der Entfärbung durch Säure oder Alkohol widerstehen und deshalb „säurefest“ genannt werden. Außer vielen saprophytären Formen gehören Krankheitserreger zu dieser Gruppe (M. tuberculosis, M. leprae), die chronisch-entzündliche Erkrankungen mit Bildung infektiöser Granulome hervorrufen.
