Abstract

In this chapter we want to account briefly for spin lattice relaxation i. e., the loss of order or the increase in entropy of the spin system due to interactions with the lattice. Rather than treating the spin lattice relaxation in general, which has been done in the fundamental books by Abragam [1] and Goldmann [2], we emphasize here the context with line narrowing experiments only. Of course, the usual spin lattice relaxation as described by the time constant T 1 is effective in these experiments too.
