Abstract

The use of small implants in more proximal areas of the skeleton is indicated for various reasons. Isolated fractures in minor tuberosities of long bones can usually be fixed with small implants and these give sufficient stability. Sometimes individual elements of comminuted fractures need to be fixed and this can be done with both large and small implants. Here we shall only mention a few typical examples, but will not embark upon a comprehensive description.
