Abstract
Bone surgery makes many demands on the surgical team, on the instruments used and on the implants. Perfect asepsis in this type of surgery is absolutely vital. Bone and joint surgery should only be carried out in specially constructed operating theatres and these should be of the highest aseptic standards.
