Zusammenfassung

Der Auftrag, in nur 20 min zu einem so umfangreichen und komplizierten Fragenkomplex Stellung zu nehmen, kann nur bedeuten, die wissenschaftlich und klinisch aktuellsten Gebiete der Eisenstoff-wechselphysiologie schlaglichtartig zu beleuchten, um so der nach-folgenden Diskussion über spezielle Fragen den Boden zu bereiten und — nicht zuletzt — wichtige spezialistische Erkenntnisse der experimentellen Medizin für die Arbeit am Kranken zu integrieren.
