Abstract

This rare lesion was described by Jaffe and Lichtenstein in 1942. Though histologically benign, it nevertheless carries a serious prognosis because of the frequency of local recurrences and, especially in children, because of its important sequelae. From the pathological standpoint, aneurysmal cyst may be confused with certain benign and malignant cystic angiomatous neoplasms, and in particular with anaplastic sarcoma of telangiectatic type.
