Zusammenfassung
Zerebrale Tuberkulome stellten noch zu Anfang dieses Jahrhunderts ein Drittel aller autoptisch untersuchten Hirntumoren dar [20]. Nur in Endemiegebieten, wie z. B. in Indien, ist heute noch eine so hohe Inzidenz mit 20% aller zerebralen Raumforderungen Erwachsener [11] und 47% aller kindlicher Hirntumoren [9] anzutreffen. In Westeuropa bilden sie in neurochirurgischen Statistiken heute eine Rarität. Asiatische Auswanderer in England haben dort in den letzten beiden Jahrzehnten jedoch zu einem merklichen Anstieg zerebraler Tuberkulome geführt mit einer Häufigkeit von ca. 0,15% aller Hirntumoren [1, 18].
