Abstract

Intracranial teratomas are a rare type of neoplastic malformation. Together with dermoids and epidermoids the frequency is about 1%. Teratomas by themselves account for approximately 0.3% [7]. Typical locations are the pineal or the sella turcica region. Rarely intracerebral teratomas can be found in the floor of the third ventricle or in both lateral ventricles [5]. If one considers only reports of those intracranial teratomas with parts of all three germ layers, reports with CT-scans are rare [1, 3, 7, 12]. The following study gives a report of an unusual intracerebral neoplastic malformation misdiagnosed by CT-scan.
