Abstract

My remarks concerning Mr. Parvin and Mr. Grammas interesting paper are supplementary rather than critical. I agree with their main point that in the long run and from a global point of view technological abatement is in general superior to locational adjustments. But it would be nice if this could be proven more convincingly. The equilibrium conditions, though essential for any evaluation of relocation as against technological abatement, do not immediately reveal this alleged superiority.
