Life and Death: Lessons from the Dying
I must have looked at my kitchen calendar a hundred times and read this saying often, without really grasping its meaning. It was not until years later that I became aware of the symbolical meaning of the statement, when I started to work with dying patients and followed them from the day of admission to the hospital until the time of their death.
