Zusammenfassung

Die Bezeichnung „Cardia“ für den Übergang zwischen Speiseröhre und Magen ist schon sehr lange in Gebrauch. Galen soll erstmals diesen Ausdruck erwähnt haben, da bestimmte Symptome in diesem Abschnitt des Gastrointestinaltraktes auftreten können, die Herzaffektionen außerordentlich ähnlich sind (Zaino U. Mitarb. 1963).
