Zusammenfassung

Die gutartigen Gelenktumoren gehören zu den seltensten Geschwulstarten, zum Teil sind sie ausgesprochene Raritäten. Dies erscheint auffällig, da die Gesamtoberfläche der Gelenke wesentlich größer ist als die anderer Organe, wie z.B. des Magens, der zu den häufigsten Tumorlokalisationsorten zählt. Vielleicht spielt eine Rolle, daß die Synovia mit Wahrscheinlichkeit dem Reticuloendothel zugezählt wird (Seemen; Baumecker). Als ein außerordentlich undifferenziertes Gewebe kann sich die Synovia nach verschiedenen Seiten hin entwickeln.
