Zusammenfassung

Im Schrifttum der beiden letzten Jahrzehnte haben sich Berichte aus aller Welt über eine auffallende Zunahme von Pyocyaneuserkrankungen angehäuft. Nicht nur die örtlich begrenzten Pyocyaneusinfektionen der Haut, des Mittelohrs und des Auges schienen häufiger geworden zu sein, sondern auch die früher so seltenen Fälle von Pyocyaneus-Sepsis und von komplizierenden, durch Pseudomonas aeruginosa bewirkten Organschädigungen. Das Vorkommen einer Pyocyaneus-Endokarditis oder Meningitis kann heute nicht mehr als eine außergewöhnliche Seltenheit gelten.
