Zusammenfassung

Die Arbeiten über den Mechanismus der Salzaufnahme konzentrieren sich auf Untersuchungen der als Grenzflächen wirkenden Membranen wie Plasmalemma und Tonoplast und die Beeinflussung der Permeabilität dieser Membranen durch Außenfaktoren. Die hierzu angewandten Methoden gehen von Messungen der Nettoaufnahme an Ionen, über Bestimmung von Influx und Efflux bis zur Bestimmung der elektrochemischen Potentialdifferenz zwischen Zellsaft und Außenlösung. Es setzt sich immer stärker die Auffassung durch, daß die Bestimmung der Nettoaufnahme an Ionen allein unzureichend ist, da neben Influx ein mehr oder weniger starker Efflux besteht. So fand Mengel bei Gerstenwurzeln mit zunehmender K-Innenkonzentration einen Anstieg des K-Efflux, bei „Salzsättigung“ wären demnach Influx = Efflux. Slayman and Tatum kamen bei Neurospora zu gleichen Ergebnissen. Die bei frischen Gewebescheiben bekanntlich fehlende Ionenaufnahme aus KCl hängt nach Steveninck bei Cl mit fehlendem Influx, bei K dagegen mit gleichen Größen von Influx und Efflux zusammen. Bei Gewebealterung nimmt der Cl-Influx zu und der K-Efflux ab, das Ergebnis ist Nettoaufnahme an K und Cl; bei „Salzsättigung“ ist Influx = Efflux.
