Zusammenfassung

Die Lactonteile der Makrolid-Antibiotica (Übersicht bei Hütter u. Mitarb.) sind aus in 1,2-Stellung verknüpften Acetat- und/oder Propionat-Einheiten aufgebaut. Nach den Untersuchungen von Corcoran u. Mitarb. (1, 2) und Grisebach u. Mitarb. (1, 2) sind am Aufbau des Erythromycin-Aglykons 7 Propionat- und eine Acetat-Einheit beteiligt. Die Vermutung von Birch, Djerassi, Dutcher und Smith (zitiert nach Abraham u. Newton), daß das Erythromycin-Aglykon aus Acetat mit nachfolgender Methylierung aufgebaut werde, ist durch diese Versuche widerlegt worden. Das Methymycin-Aglykon ist aus 5-Propionat- und einer Acetat-Einheit zusammengesetzt (Birch u. Mitarb.) (Formel 1).
