Zusammenfassung
Wenn im folgenden die Wirkung des Mineralstoffwechsels auf das Herz-Kreislaufsystem besprochen werden soll, muß vorausgeschickt werden, daß der Elektrolythaushalt eng mit dem übrigen Stoffwechsel verknüpft ist und an den Veränderungen des Kohlenhydrat-, Eiweiß- und Fettstoffwechsels teilnimmt. Die Elektrolyte bilden ferner mit dem Körperwasser und dem Säurebasenhaushalt eine funktionelle Einheit und sind synchronen Störungen unterworfen. Außerdem besteht eine enge Wechselbeziehung zwischen Mineralhaushalt und Hormonen, auf deren Bedeutung für das Herz-Kreislaufsystem besonders RAAB (1953) hingewiesen hat. Neben der hormonellen Regulation unterliegt der Elektrolytstoffwechsel nervösen Einflüssen. Es ist das Verdienst von Kraus U. Zondek (1920), auf die enge Verknüpfung zwischen vegetativem Nervensystem und Mineralhaushalt hingewiesen zu haben. Eine Erweiterung erfuhren diese Gedankengänge besonders durch HOFF (1930). Wenn man die Wechselbeziehungen der Ionen mit der Formel von SZENT-GYöRGYI
ausdrückt, so löst eine relative oder absolute Steigerung des Zählers eine erhöhte neuro-muskuläre Erregbarkeit aus, während eine Erhöhung des Nenners eine Dämpfung zur Folge hat (Fanconi U. Neuhaus 1953). Die Wirkung der einzelnen Ionen ist weitgehend von ihrem Mengenverhältnis zu den anderen Elektrolyten abhängig. Auf die Notwendigkeit eines äquilibrierten Elektrolytmilieus für die Lebensvorgänge hat RINGER schon 1882 besonders hingewiesen.
